The Australian Shepherd (mother) is an energetic, high-drive herder bred to gather and move livestock, while the Polish Tatra (father) is a giant, independent livestock guardian dog (LGD) bred to fiercely protect flocks from predators. This specific cross combines an intense, mid-sized working herder with a giant livestock guardian, producing a highly unique, intelligent, and protective dog. The crossing of an Australian Shepherd with a Polish Tatra Sheepdog are excellent for human partnership. A blend of extreme loyalty and high energy. Australian Shepherds are hyper-focused workaholics, while Polish Tatras are calm, quiet, and independent guardians. The mix usually results in a brilliant, watchful dog that requires heavy mental stimulation and a job to do.
