It absolutely breaks our hearts to make this decision, but due to an upcoming move to another province and the care needs of our older dog, we are searching for the perfect forever family for Prince.
This is not a rushed rehoming. We are committed to finding the right home and are willing to wait for the right fit.
About Prince
• Young, healthy male Toy Poodle
• Extremely affectionate, loyal, and people oriented
• Loves children and has been raised around both babies and toddlers
• Very gentle, friendly, and has never bitten anyone
• Off leash trained and incredibly attentive to his humans
• Does not destroy furniture, shoes, socks, etc.
• More interested in cuddling and spending time with people than toys or other dogs
• Sleeps happily in his own bed but would also love cuddling in bed with his humans
• No known genetic or health issues
Personality:
Prince is the definition of a companion dog. He wants to be wherever his people are whether that’s going for walks, outdoor adventures, relaxing at home, or simply laying beside you. He bonds deeply with his family and thrives in a loving environment where someone is around often.
He is very smart, eager to please, and extremely loyal. Even off leash, he has no interest in running away or approaching strangers/dogs he simply wants to stay close to his humans.
Important Transparency
Prince does experience separation anxiety during major transitions or when placed in unfamiliar environments. We discovered this during periods where he stayed with friends or family while we traveled. In those situations, he could become anxious and have indoor urination accidents temporarily while adjusting.
Once he feels secure and settled, this is not an ongoing issue in his normal home environment.
Because of this, we are looking for:
• A patient and understanding family
• A home where someone is around often, especially during the adjustment period
• Someone who understands anxious dogs need time, consistency, and reassurance not punishment
Prince is not typically a loud or excessive barker, though he may vocalize when first left alone in a new environment.
Diet & Grooming
Prince has food allergies to chicken and pork. He can eat other proteins without issue and currently does very well on salmon-based food (Performatrin Small Breed Salmon & Veggies).
If exposed to chicken or pork, he can develop hives and fur loss, so his diet does need to be respected carefully.
He is well behaved for grooming and is professionally groomed every 2–3 months, with baths at home in between.
✨ Other Notes
• Not neutered currently
• Good with people and children
• Indifferent toward most dogs, but civil prefers humans
• Would do best with a loving family looking for a true companion dog
This sweet boy deserves a home where he will be deeply loved, included, and understood. We care about him tremendously and want this to be a forever placement. There is also a rehoming fee.
Serious inquiries only, please.
